QuoteSooner vs. Paperless Parts: a Paperless Parts alternative for small shops
Short answer
Paperless Parts is the broader, more established platform: automated costing from 3D models, manufacturability warnings, ERP integrations and defense-grade security. QuoteSooner is a smaller, focused tool for shops that quote mostly from PDF drawings and want a published monthly price and a setup that starts with one walkthrough. If you need CAD-driven costing, ERP integration or ITAR work, choose Paperless Parts.
At a glance
| Paperless Parts | QuoteSooner | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Shops of any size that quote from 3D models, run an ERP, or do defense work | Small CNC shops (about 5 to 50 people) quoting mostly from PDF drawings |
| How a price starts | Automated costing from the part file with your shop’s own rules [1] | Your unit price per quantity, or a price built from material and operations at your rates |
| Reading prints and emails | Wingman reads RFQ emails and prints for estimators to review [1] | Reads the drawing and pasted request; flags anything missing or conflicting to confirm |
| 3D model analysis | Setups, holes, pockets, 3D features and manufacturability warnings [1] | Not today; CAD processing is being prepared for guided pilots |
| Price | Not published; pricing on request [4] | US$499 a month per shop; US$399 for the first ten shops |
| Setup | “A ‘typical’ implementation is about 10-12 weeks” [3] | Starts with one walkthrough on a request of yours |
| ERP integration | M1, JobBOSS², E2, Epicor, Infor VISUAL, Global Shop Solutions, ProShop and more [1] | None; download the quote PDF and send it from your own email |
| Defense and ITAR work | ITAR registered, CMMC Level 2 assessment-ready, FedRAMP Moderate Equivalent [1] | Not supported; please don’t upload controlled drawings |
| Processes | CNC, Swiss, sheet metal, assemblies, rubber and additive [3] | CNC machining |
Where Paperless Parts is stronger
Paperless Parts does much more than QuoteSooner, and for many shops that breadth is the point:
- Automated costing from 3D models. Upload a part file and it detects setups, holes, pockets and 3D features, flags manufacturability risks, and calculates cost and price with your shop’s rules [1]. QuoteSooner does not do this today.
- More of the quoting workflow. Forwarded RFQ emails, file unzipping and renaming, an AI BOM builder, requirements review, bulk actions, in-quote chat, task assignment and multi-site dashboards [2].
- ERP and business-system integrations. Won quotes move into ERPs including JobBOSS², E2, Epicor and ProShop, and it connects to HubSpot, Salesforce and QuickBooks [1][3].
- Defense and controlled work. It describes itself as CMMC Level 2 assessment-ready and FedRAMP Moderate Equivalent, hosted on AWS GovCloud [1][3]. QuoteSooner refuses controlled work entirely.
- More processes. Sheet metal, Swiss, assemblies, rubber and additive as well as CNC [3].
If any of these is a requirement, Paperless Parts is the better fit, and this page should not talk you out of it.
Where QuoteSooner is different
QuoteSooner is deliberately narrower. It is built for the owner or estimator in a small shop who quotes from PDF drawings between jobs.
- A price on the website. US$499 a month per shop, everything included, no seat or quote limits. The first ten paying shops keep US$399 a month for life. Paperless Parts asks you to request pricing [4].
- A start measured in one conversation. You bring a request you are working on, we set up your rates and quote it together. There is no implementation project.
- It flags instead of guessing. Anything it is unsure of, or anything the drawing and the request disagree on, becomes a check you confirm or correct before pricing.
- Your own past prices. When a part comes back, what you charged last time is shown on the part, so repeat work is quoted consistently.

Pricing, as published
Paperless Parts does not publish a price. Its pricing page offers a form to request pricing and says its tiers suit anyone from a 5-person shop to a 500-person enterprise. It also states customers see ROI in five months or less; that is Paperless Parts’ claim, which we have not verified [4].
QuoteSooner costs US$499 a month per shop, month to month, with the founding-shop price of US$399 a month for the first ten paying shops. See pricing.
Which should you choose?
- Choose Paperless Parts if you quote from 3D models and want costing calculated from geometry, need your quotes to flow into an ERP, do defense or ITAR work, or quote several processes across multiple sites.
- Choose QuoteSooner if you are a small CNC shop quoting mostly from PDF drawings, want to know the price before you talk to anyone, and want the estimator to stay in charge of every number.
Questions
- Is QuoteSooner a Paperless Parts alternative?
- For small CNC shops that quote mostly from PDF drawings, yes. It covers reading the request, checking it, pricing each quantity and producing the quote. It does not replace Paperless Parts’ 3D costing, ERP integrations or defense-grade hosting.
- Can QuoteSooner price a part automatically from a 3D model?
- Not today. CAD processing is being prepared for guided pilots. Paperless Parts does automated costing from part files [1].
- Which is cheaper?
- QuoteSooner publishes its price: US$499 a month per shop, or US$399 for the first ten shops. Paperless Parts does not publish a price, so a direct comparison needs a quote from them [4].
- Does QuoteSooner work with my ERP?
- Not today. You download the quote PDF and send it from your own email. Paperless Parts lists integrations with ERPs including JobBOSS², E2, Epicor and ProShop [1].
- Can I quote ITAR or defense parts in QuoteSooner?
- No. QuoteSooner is not for defense-controlled or export-restricted drawings. Paperless Parts describes itself as ITAR registered and CMMC Level 2 assessment-ready [1].
